"I want to capture it all...every glistening facet, each color laden pixel, the wisps of thought, the skin of youth and the courage of ages..."- Julia Farley
These foam tray prints are amazing! What kind of paints are you using? And are you using the little foam trays from the supermarket that are for holding meat products?
Yes, indeedy! Being a recylefanatic, they are, indeed, foad food trays from the store. Thank you for the compliment! I use various mediums in my prints, but mostly block print ink for the final print (expensive but more viscous and slower to dry than the acrylic I use for the proofs)
The foam trays are quite delicate, though. One has to be careful not to lean ones hand on any edge while working, or to scuff it with a tool (I use engraving tool, ball point pen, or x-acto knife) as the mark will be permanent on the following prints. (Otherwise known as do *NOT* leave your stuff on the table so your 9 year old can muddle with it while she is on the phone....rrrrrrrgh!)
I don't own a scanner yet so I just took a photo with my digicam so I could get them up on the site.
Thanks for being a fan (as I am of you, by the way). It is an enormous ego boost and makes me work even harder at my art(s).
Wow-- that was pretty good just using a digi cam-- I thought you had scanned it. I think that is extremely creative to use those things that otherwise go into a land fill and this way you make ART!!!!!! - bluepoppy
